The Golf Village at Central Park will be a world class teaching and learning center. Situated on approximately 60 acres at the intersection of Claycraft and Taylor Roads in Gahanna, Ohio, and eventually surrounded by 1 million square feet of office space, the brown field site is the former Bedford Landfill property. The aim of the facility is to make the game friendlier to new players and less time-consuming for current ones. Golf Instruction programs will be offered for kids ages 3 to 90, beginners to tour professionals, men, women and children. Beginners will learn not only how to hit a golf ball but to develop an understanding of the rules and etiquette that go with the game. The Golf Village at Central Park will feature a driving range with a 75,000 square foot grass hitting area and four target greens at which to aim shots, covered/heated hitting bays, a short game improvement area, 9 hole putting course, a short pitch and putt course modeled after ones in Scotland, and Par 3 golf course designed by the world class design team of Hurdzan & Fry. The pitch and putt course will be ideal for the whole family with an estimated round time of only 45 minutes. The 9-hole Par 3 course will also be a good test for experienced golfers, with holes ranging in length from 105 to 200 yards, designed for "quick golf" with an estimated 9-hole round taking about an hour and 15 minutes. The property will be crowned by a charming 3,000 square foot clubhouse decorated with golf memorabilia, that will serve a fun pub style menu for golfers and non-golfers alike. Perched on a hill that is said to be the highest point in Franklin County, the outstanding view of the Columbus skyline will be one the most unique features of the facility.
